Where Can I Go From You?

Music and Text by Zach Redler

For Brittney Redler

Based on Psalm 139

Duration ca. 2 1/2 minutes

Notes

Much of my spiritual and emotional work is to remember to turn back towards G-d, the all-loving, absolutely pervading sense of forgiveness in this world; to know that accessing that love, safety, comfort, and forgiveness is always available to me no matter where I am or what situation I may find myself.

One Sunday in January our new community church found itself needing some music for service. I felt immediately inspired to write this piece. Like most of my music, it was written for my partner, Brittney Redler, to sing. It was finished within an hour.

Where Can I Go From You was premiered at Harrisville Community Church on January 14th, 2024.

Text

Where can I go from You?

Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Where can I run away from where You are?

If I should climb the highest mountains,

there You are.

If I should sleep in the lowest valley,

there You are.

There You are

accross the sky

below the sea

even there

even there Your hand will guide me

Where can I go from You?

Where can I go from You?

Look through me

Know my heart

Then darkness will turn light as day
