Mr. Brown

Libretto by Jerre Dye

Written for Frederick Ballentine and Kunal Lahiry

Summary

Based on Freddie’s childhood chorus teacher, Mr. Brown. This piece reflects on the man that greatly influenced Freddie’s life, musically and otherwise. Mr. Brown was “proud, loud, and audacious”. “Mr. Brown” is both virtuosic and beautifully endearous. This piece is for anyone who wants to dramatically explore reflecting on “that person” who changed your life for the better; who showed you you could be exactly who you are in a world filled with mismatched expectations.
